In November 2026, Microsoft released a translucent green Xbox Series X console, complete with a 1TB SSD and a light-up Xbox insignia on its matching controller, to mark the 25th anniversary of its iconic gaming brand. Microsoft celebrates a quarter-century of advanced gaming innovation, yet its flagship anniversary console deliberately embraces the raw, translucent aesthetic of its very first generation. Companies increasingly use nostalgic, limited-edition hardware releases to drive collector interest and reinforce brand identity. Such anniversary offerings will likely continue for major milestones.
